I was in media player updating my music library when suddenly there was a notification from Winzip indicating it was unzipping either zip files or PDF's. Would be nice to have a log file that would help track things like that. The items were things I am interested in, but just not expected for it to do that. Yes, I like to control what is going on my Computer and that would be a big help to investigate what happened.
I encountered the issue again this this time it was out in the open. I got a prompt that showed it was from WinZip and it was adding files to something. Not sure what that something was, but definitely not good. Just like that last time it was indicating pictures I have, the one problem with it it did not tell me where it was adding the files to. This is why I suggested having winzip create a log file when it does anything. At least that way we can go to find out what it added. I did not see this popup right away, I was working on something else to start off with then when I closed what I was doing is when the popup came into view. I know you state it is not supposed to do that, but it is doing that.
Hi,
Thank you for submitting your idea and feedback. We appreciate your insights.
Would you have the notification that was sent to you? WinZip will never unzip files without the user initiating the request. You might have received a notification about duplicated files found on your PC. That is a Windows tray notification showing ways to save space by removing duplicated files from your PC. Would you mind checking it and getting back to us?
Thank you.
